The Shalom Hartman Institute is where leading thinkers, educators and agents of change in the Jewish world gather to study, create, and disseminate new ideas and innovative programs, shaping Jewish life in Israel and around the world.
The Institute empowers scholars, rabbis, educators and lay leaders to develop new and diverse voices within the tradition, laying foundations for the future of Jewish life in Israel and around the world.
Our programs equip thousands of change agents a year with the skills, knowledge and vision to create a new dialogue between Jews of diverse backgrounds, between classic Judaic sources and modernity, and between Judaism and other faiths.
The Shalom Hartman Institute is structured around three centers:
The Kogod Research Center for Contemporary Jewish Thought is a multi-denominational and independent think tank that draws on 3,000 years of Jewish intellectual thought to develop new ideas that shape and enrich modern Jewish life.
The Education Center for Israeli-Jewish Identity develops innovative educational initiatives and leaders reshaping Israeli-Jewish identity and laying new foundations for religious pluralism in Israel.
The Center for North American Leadership Initiatives enriches the resources, vision and commitment of leaders and change agents who will shape the future of Jewish life in North America and set the agendas of its educational, religious and community institutions.
The Shalom Hartman Institute is located on a three-acre campus located between Jerusalem's Talbieh and German Colony neighborhoods.
Our address is 11 Gedalyahu Alon St., Jerusalem 93113 Israel. The main telephone number is +972-2-567-5320. Directions to the Institute are available here. Click here to make a secure donation online or click the button below.
