Dr. Shraga Bar-On is a research fellow, lecturer, and educator at Shalom Hartman Institute. His research concerns Contemporary Theology, focusing on the topic of God-seeking as a matter of faith across identities.
He teaches in many of Institute’s programs and is facilitator for the Lev Aharon Cathedra program for high ranking army officers. As a member of the "Tarbut Yisrael" (Jewish heritage) curricula-writing team, Dr. Bar-On is developing new methodologies for teaching Jewish studies.
Dr. Bar-On teaches at the Kerem Institute for Teacher Training for Humanistic-Jewish Education, is a moderator for the Gvanim program of the Jewish Federation in San Francisco, and an activist in various frameworks for Jewish renewal in Israel. Dr. Bar-On has won several prizes and scholarships in educational and academic fields.
