Communities across San Diego participated in this program, which included study of the 2016 iEngage Project curriculum, Jewish Values and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict , at their communities, framed by two public lectures.
The iEngage Community-Wide Conversation about Israel in San Diego elevated the discourse around Israel within each participating institution, while creating a context for genuine Israel engagement across denominational, generational, and geographic divides.
The program brought Jewish ideas-based content and the unique Hartman approach of applied Jewish thought to a wide spectrum of the San Diego Jewish community within a defined time-frame. Each participating institution facilitated the “ iEngage: Jewish Values and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict ” curriculum during this period at a pace and through a methodology suited to each context.

The iEngage: Jewish Values and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict series attempts to rectify the internal Jewish communal challenges related to talking about the conflict by naming and working through the various values narratives that animate different political views.
Together with a study of internal Jewish narratives about Israel and an unpacking of the complex meanings of peace in Jewish tradition, this series seeks to make participants more aware of the values makeup of their own political views, and attempts to create a more stable pluralism in Jewish life in how we talk about this most divisive issue.
You care about Israel, peoplehood, and vibrant, ethical Jewish communities. We do too.
