Four rabbis in the Shalom Hartman Institute’s Rabbinic Leadership Initiative have been named to the Forward’s annual list of “ America’s Most Inspiring Rabbis .”

Forward editor Jane Eisner, in describing the 32 rabbis that were selected, said that American Jews crave spiritual leadership, whether it comes from a young, innovative, recent seminary graduate, or an older rabbi who has shepherded his congregation for decades.

"Our annual call for readers to nominate their most inspiring rabbis has brought hundreds of stories to our attention, from all over the country, across all denominations and traditions," Eisner wrote. "What binds these stories is powerful gratitude for human connection."
