Hartman scholars participating in major Jewish education conference

Several Shalom Hartman Institute scholars will be participating in the international seminar of the Israel Association of Research in Jewish Education in Israel Jan. 7-9, 2009

 

Several Shalom Hartman Institute scholars will be participating in the conference, "Multiple Identities in Jewish Education," an international seminar of the Israel Association of Research in Jewish Education this week in Israel.
 
The event, hosted by Oranim College, in cooperation with the Mandel Leadership Institute, will take place Jan. 7-9, 2009, in Navon and in Jerusalem. Rabbi Rachel Sabbath Bet-Halachmi , director of the Center for Lay Leadership Education , will chair a panel on Halacha and Jewish Identity, and Pnina Schur, director of the Institute’s Ma’atzim program, will lecture on: "The New Jewish-Israeli: A Discourse of Jewish Identity in the National Educational System."
