In the wake of Israel’s war on Hamas, and a new U.S. president’s renewed efforts to help bring about peace in the Middle East, Hartman Institute brings you video recordings of three provocative lectures on the Israeli-Palestinian issue given at Shalom Hartman Institute last summer from prominent participants and observers – representing diverse Israeli viewpoints.

Watch these passionate, intellectual, and challenging video lectures, collectively titled, "Struggling With the Israeli Palestinian Issue," featuring:
Dore Gold, speaking at Shalom Hartman Institute, Jerusalem, Israel, Summer 2008Dore Gold is president of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs , a former Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations, an advisor to former Prime Ministers Ariel Sharon and Benjamin Netanyahu, and an author of several books, including, Hatred’s Kingdom: How Saudi Arabia Supports the New Global Terrorism, and Tower of Babble: How the United Nations Has Fueled Global Chaos.

Jessica Montell, B'tselem, spoke at Shalom Hartman Institute, Jerusalem, Israel, Summer 2008Jessica Montell is executive director of B’tselem , the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories, which was established 20 years ago by Israeli academics, attorneys, journalists, and Knesset members to document and educate the Israeli public and policymakers about human rights issues in the Palestinian Territories, to combat what it calls "the phenomenon of denial prevalent among the Israeli public," and help create a human rights culture in Israel.

Rabbi Dr. Donniel Hartman is co-director of Shalom Hartman Institute.

The Hartman Institute brought each of these speakers before the members of the Christian Leadership Initiative, a multiyear program for Christian academics and theologians structured in a manner similar to the Institute’s Rabbinic Leadership Initiative.
