The Hartman Institute’s two high schools, the Charles E. Smith High School for Boys and Midrashiya for Girls , held their annual end of school year event together for the first time on June 10, 2010. More than 600 students, parents, teachers, and family members attended the highly joyful event.

The end of year party celebrated, among other things, that the boys’ high school was  awarded a national prize for excellence in education.

The party charged a modest entry fee, sold ads for a program and yearbook, and conducted a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses that raised thousands of shekels toward a scholarship fund for students.

There was great cooperation among teachers, administrators, parents, and students in preparation of the event.

School directors Zvi Yanai and Merav Badichi, and Shalom Hartman Institute President Donniel Hartman spoke of the school’s achievements. Assaf Ashtar, a well known Israeli TV personality, recording artist and performer, led a lively evening of Israeli songs, a singalong and spontaneous dancing throughout the Hartman Institute courtyard.
