Over the course of the year, the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America partnered with seven organizations to provide a variety of thought-provoking text-based study sessions for close to 200 Jewish communal leaders across North America. Partnering organizations included The Berrie Fellows Leadership Program in New Jersey, The Jewish Family and Children’s Services of San Francisco, Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties, The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, The Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey, The Lola Stein Institute in Toronto, The UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, and The UJA Federation of Greater New York.
The programs strengthen and expand the intellectual horizons of community leaders, enabling them to respond more meaningfully to the contemporary issues and challenges facing Jewish life. Under the leadership and guidance of renowned Hartman faculty, participants had the opportunity to explore the following topics: "Engaging Israel: Foundations for a New Relationship," "Insiders & Outsiders," and "Jewish Peoplehood: The Meaning of the Collective in Modern Jewish Life," and “Jewish Values and the Challenges of Modern Life.”
